• What’s the story behind GlobalMojo?
• What is GlobalMojo?
GlobalMojo is the first Internet browser designed for socially conscious and involved web users. Built on the safe, fast and secure Firefox browser architecture, GlobalMojo unlocks a new way for you to generate money for your favorite nonprofit or school simply by browsing the Internet the same way you do every day, and at no cost to you. We do this by redirecting revenue that you’re already generating when you search, browse, and shop online, to the causes you care about. 50% of our gross revenue goes directly to each user’s selected nonprofits and schools.
• How does GlobalMojo work?
Did you know there’s a lot of revenue being generated behind the scenes on the Internet? As you browse the web, perform searches, shop, plan vacations, view advertising and many other activities, you are generating revenue that is collected by other companies.
GlobalMojo is designed to redirect some of that revenue to nonprofits and schools that you select. All revenue GlobalMojo generates comes from Internet companies that pay to reach our users. We’ve designed helpful features that provide our users with a superior web browsing experience and also tap into the existing Internet economy. For example, our travel service helps you search all major travel sites with one easy action/step. You decide which features you want to use. Unlike most online companies that keep 100% of the revenue you generate, we redirect 50% of revenues directly to nonprofits and schools of your choice. You have a choice in how you interact with the Internet, and what companies you decide to support. By using GlobalMojo, you can enjoy the benefits of a powerful new browser and be a socially conscious and involved web user.
• When can I use GlobalMojo?
You can use GlobalMojo everyday, just like you use your current browser. Use GlobalMojo to browse, search, shop and plan your travel. It’s as good or better than the browser you’re using right now, and it makes the planet a better place when you use it.
• How much will Global Mojo cost me?
Zero. GlobalMojo helps you support your favorite nonprofit organizations at no cost to you. GlobalMojo is also free for all nonprofit organizations and schools who benefit from your support. All of our revenue comes from Internet companies that pay for the opportunity to reach our users.
• What’s the catch? GlobalMojo sounds too good to be true.
There’s no catch – we’re just tapping into the existing Internet economy and redirecting some of the revenue that people are already generating to nonprofits and schools. We simply let each GlobalMojo user determine how 50% of the revenue they generate on the web is spent. After all, it’s the people browsing the Internet who generate the revenue — we think they should have a say in how it is spent.

The GlobalMojo team consists of seasoned business entrepreneurs, computer programmers, philanthropists and nonprofit experts who have come together with the common goal of changing “business as usual” on the Internet. We firmly believe that most Internet users, when given the opportunity to make a positive difference simply by doing what they already do every day, will choose to do so. • How Does GlobalMojo Work?
• How does the GlobalMojo browser generate revenue for the nonprofits and schools I want to support?
All of our revenue comes from online companies who pay to reach our users. This is exactly the same way that most online companies generate revenue (Yahoo, Google, Expedia, CNN, Amazon, Shopping.com, etc). None of our revenue comes from our users, nonprofits or schools. It works like this:
1. Online businesses need customers to stay in business.
2. Those businesses will pay third parties like GlobalMojo to help them reach new customers.
3. When one of our users decides to search, plan a vacation or shop with one of our partners, they pay GlobalMojo a sales commission for helping them find a new customer.
4. The GlobalMojo difference is that unlike most companies that keep 100% of that commission revenue, we donate 50% directly to nonprofits and schools chosen by our users.
5. Each Internet user is already generating this revenue, even if they are unaware of it. We simply provide an innovative way for our users to have a say in how the revenue they generating is spent.
GlobalMojo generates money for your favorite causes when you use the following helpful features and services.
GlobalMojo Travel: The GlobalMojo travel feature saves you time and money. Simply click the travel button, enter your travel information once, select the sites you want to search (Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak, Hotwire, Priceline and more!) and we search all of the best travel sites and display the results in separate tabs so you can find the best price in less time. No more reentering your search info on each site looking for the best price.
GlobalMojo Shopping: Compare prices on products across 900 different merchants so you can find the best prices— a shopping experience on par with any other comparison shopping site on the web.
Search: When you search using Yahoo! GlobalMojo will donate 50% of the revenue generated from each search to the causes you support.
Advertising: You will notice advertising on some of GlobalMojo’s web pages. For example, the eBundle search engine has advertising. When GlobalMojo generates revenue from the advertising on any of these pages, we pass on 50% to the causes you care about.
As GlobalMojo grows, we will continue to add features and functionality that enhance your web browsing experience and generate money for the nonprofits and schools. We’ll show you exactly which features generate revenue for your favorite causes, and you decide if you want to use those features. It is entirely up to each individual user to determine how they use GlobalMojo browser to generate revenues for their favorite causes.
• How much of the revenue I generate goes to my nonprofit?
50% of the gross revenue earned by GlobalMojo is donated to the nonprofits and schools chosen by each user. We use the remaining 50% to maintain cutting edge technology for our users, pay our staff, keep the lights on and maybe even turn a little profit at some point. We believe in a world where a commitment to corporate social responsibility and profitability don’t have to be competing objectives. Profits are no fun if they’re made at the expense of people’s health, happiness or well-being.
• How much money can GlobalMojo generate for my nonprofit or school?
It’s depends on each individual user and how they choose to use GlobalMojo. Some users will take full advantage of all of the features that generate revenue for their favorite causes; some may use only one or two features. We conservatively estimate that a nonprofit should generate about $10-$30 per year for each supporter who uses GlobalMojo. For example, a school with 500 parents who use GlobalMojo could generate an additional $15,000 a year just from those parents’ regular web browsing. This amount will increase over time, as GlobalMojo optimizes relationships with our current partners (search, travel, shopping, advertising) and brings on new partner and services.
• What kind of organizations does GlobalMojo help?
GlobalMojo supports all registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofits and schools. In order to be eligible, your organization or school must be a registered nonprofit with the IRS or the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). This includes charities, schools, hospitals, health clinics, churches and religious organizations, volunteer services, political organizations, professional associations, governmental organizations, veterans assistance associations, etc who are registered as a 501 (c)(3) through the US Internal Revenue Service. We currently work with U.S. registered nonprofits and ultimately will spread the Mojo globally.
• Where does GlobalMojo get its list of nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, etc?
GlobalMojo is pleased to have over 1.5 million nonprofits and schools in our database provided by our partners, GuideStar and the National Center for Education Statistics. GuideStar is the industry leader in collecting information about nonprofit organizations, which it obtains through annual IRS tax filings and through its interaction with thousands of organizations every year. GuideStar's database includes almost every registered 501(c)(3) organization in the United States, but may not include some of the most recently registered organizations.

GlobalMojo is also pleased to use data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences, NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education.

With our comprehensive database and our strong partner alliances, you can feel confident that the school or nonprofit that you choose is a valid organization approved by the IRS.


• Am I paying the same price when I use GlobalMojo Shopping and GlobalMojo Travel?
Yes, and in many cases, you will pay less, since GlobalMojo Shopping and GlobalMojo Travel provides you with a powerful comparison tool that finds the lowest prices for items you frequently buy online. Because you can compare prices over many sites with just one search, GlobalMojo Shopping and GlobalMojo Travel also save you valuable time while providing a strong social return for every purchase you make.
• Is shopping and purchasing travel through GlobalMojo secure?
Yes! Each merchant in our network of partners has been evaluated to ensure they provide the highest level of security for all of their transactions, resulting in a safe, secure and worry-free shopping experience.
• How can I see how much revenue I’m generating for my nonprofit or school?
You can monitor how much revenue you’ve personally generated for your favorite causes by signing into GlobalMojo and clicking on the “My Causes” tab. All of this information broken out in an easy-to-read format.
• Do all Internet purchases generate revenue for my nonprofit or school?
All purchases made using GlobalMojo’s features and services will generate revenue for your nonprofits and schools. We’ll show you exactly which features generate revenue, and you decide if and how much you want to use them. The amount of revenue you generate is entirely up to you.

• How do I get started with GlobalMojo?
It’s simple. Just follow these simple steps:
1. Download the GlobalMojo browser (or add-on for Firefox). It takes less than 5 minutes.
2. Create your profile
3. Select the nonprofits and schools you want to support
4. Start browsing and start generating support for your favorite causes!
• How do I download the GlobalMojo browser?
Visit GlobalMojo.com, click on the "Download the GlobalMojo browser" button, and follow the simple instructions.
• If I already use the Firefox browser, how do I download the GlobalMojo add-on?
VisitGlobalMojo.com, click on the "Firefox User?" button, and follow the instructions to download the add-on. It’s easy!
• How do I create a personal profile and customize my browser?
Click the “Sign In” button at globalmojo.com. If you don’t have a profile, click on the link that says “I don’t have a profile. Click here to get one” and follow the simple steps. After you create a profile, sign in and click on the “My Setting” tab to customize GlobalMojo.
• How can I learn about all the features on the GlobalMojo browser?

• How do I select my nonprofits / schools?
Sign in to your GlobalMojo account by clicking the “Sign In” button at the bottom right corner of your browser or go to globalmojo.com and click “Sign In”. Next, click on the “My Causes” tab and select “Add a New Cause”. It’s that easy.
• Can I support more than one cause?
Yes, you can support up to four different nonprofits and schools at a time. You also determine what % of the revenue you generate goes to each cause. Then select your primary cause, and when you invite friends to support that cause and become GlobalMojo users, they will automatically become a supporter of your primary cause when they create their GlobalMojo profiles.
• What if I can’t find my nonprofit or my school on the list?
1. THIS SECTION TO BE REWRITTEN AFTER NONPROFIT SEARCH SECTION IS DONE.
2. First check your search parameters to make sure your organization is not already listed in our database. (use same search help text as we use on our site.)
3. For Schools: we rely on the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) for our school directory. If a public or charter school is missing from our site, we recommend you do two things:
   1. Ask your school to fll out our “add school” form &
   2. Ask your school to contact the appropriate state Department of Education to ask them to list the school so that you get added to the national databases in the future.
4. Other nonprofits: If your organization is a 501(c)(3) and not in our database, please have them contact Guidestar to get added to the master database. This will benefit the organization not only because it will show up in the GlobalMojo database, but on every other nonprofit donor site that uses the Guidestar database.
• Do I get a tax deduction?
We have researched this issue, and due to the inherent difficulties of complying with current tax laws in each of the 50 states, tax deductions are not available to GlobalMojo users at this time. We will continue to research strategies on how our users can claim tax deductions in the future.
• How do I tell my friends and family about GlobalMojo?
Please visit our Tell a Friend page and help us spread the word to friends and nonprofits that will benefit from GlobalMojo.
• How do you prevent fraudulent use of GlobalMojo?
GlobalMojo is all about trying to do something good for the planet, and we hope our users will respect what we’re doing by playing nicely with GlobalMojo. However, GlobalMojo and our partners have extensive fraud protection mechanisms in please. Fraud includes but is not limited to click fraud (repeated manual clicks, robots or automated query tools, etc), credit card fraud or any other activity that we deem as malicious in nature. These activities will result in the user being banned from GlobalMojo and their donations being forfeited and donated to the charity of GlobalMojo’s choice.
• How do I make a credit card donation to charity?
We are still building this functionality and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready. When we go live with this function, you will be able to make direct cash donations to the charities of your choice directly from the GlobalMojo site. You can then track these donations on the “My Causes” tab after logging in.
• Browser / Firefox Add-On Questions
• I already use Mozilla Firefox — what should I do?
No problem- you can still support your favorite causes by downloading the GlobalMojo add-on for Firefox. It enhances your Firefox browser with all of the same powerful tools and appearance of the GlobalMojo browser. You’ll be generating revenue for your favorite causes in no time!
• Is there an Add-on for other Browsers, like Internet Explorer, Safari or Chrome?
Not yet, but stay tuned. As we grow, we hope to create GlobalMojo add-ons that will enable all other browsers to generate revenue for the nonprofits you want to support.
• Why Should I use GlobalMojo instead of other Browsers?
1. GlobalMojo is built on top of the safe, secure and popular Firefox browser architecture which means it’s fast, tested and reliable. GlobalMojo is as good or better than any browser on the market in terms of performance, security and features.
2. GlobalMojo has innovative and helpful features you won’t find on other browsers.
3. Most importantly, by using GlobalMojo you generate money for the causes that matter to you just by doing what you’re already doing on the web.
• Will all of my favorites from Internet Explorer or other browsers be automatically imported to the GlobalMojo browser when I download it?
If you choose to do so, GlobalMojo will automatically import your favorites, passwords and settings from Internet Explorer and other browsers so our browser is ready to go the first time you use it. Setup takes less than five minutes, and no technical skills are required to get started.
• Will GlobalMojo back up all my favorites and important data in case my computer is lost, stolen or damaged?
Yes, GlobalMojo will back up your favorites and other data if you activate this feature. This will enable you to download your personalized version of GlobalMojo to any computer, so you never have to spend time personalizing a new browser on a new computer.
• Can I use GlobalMojo when I browse on other computers?
Yes, you can easily download your personalized version of GlobalMojo to any computer. Also, when you back up your favorites with GlobalMojo, you can also access them from any computer just by signing in to your GlobalMojo account.
• How do I create a personal profile and customize my browser?

• What operating systems is the GlobalMojo browser compatible with?
Currently, the GlobalMojo browser runs on Windows (98, 2000, XP and Vista). In addition, if you have a Mac and want to enjoy all of the features of the GlobalMojo browser, you can download the GlobalMojo add-on for the Firefox browser on your Mac. (If you don't already have Firefox on your Mac you can download it here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/. After you have Firefox on your Mac you can download the GlobalMojo add-on by clicking the "Are you a Firefox user?" button at GlobalMojo.com.)
• Is the GlobalMojo browser a Mozilla product?
GlobalMojo is not a Mozilla product, but it was built using Mozilla’s Open Source technology, which has been downloaded over 1 billion times worldwide (we think they might be on to something). We believe that thousands of talented developers contributing to Mozilla have made this the best browser technology in the world. We fully support everything that Mozilla is doing and thank them and all of their contributors for their amazing work. Without Mozilla, GlobalMojo wouldn’t be possible.
• Is the GlobalMojo browser a Mozilla product?

• What is the add-on for Firefox?
An add-on is a common name for an application that you download on top of your Firefox browser. Add-ons can add new feature to your Firefox browser or change the way it looks. Add-ons for Firefox include extensions, themes, plug-ins, dictionaries and search engines.
• Is the GlobalMojo add-on for Firefox considered an extension, or a theme?
Both. The extension portion gives your Firefox browser all the powerful features and functions of the GlobalMojo browser. The theme portion allows you to build your own personal look for your Firefox browser. Both parts can work independently of one another, if you decide you want to use a different Firefox theme or vice-versa.
• What does the GlobalMojo add-on do for my Firefox browser?
First and foremost, while keeping all of the great speed, security and features of your Firefox browser, the GlobalMojo add-on allows you to generate money for your favorite causes just by browsing the web. In addition, it enhances your Firefox browser with all of the great features of the GlobalMojo browser (click here to watch a video about the cool features). The GlobalMojo add-on is free, safe and secure.
• Will my browser still be Firefox?
Yes. The GlobalMojo add-on only enhances your Firefox browser with all of the additional functionality, appearance, and strong social return of the GlobalMojo browser, but it all runs on top of your Firefox browser.
• Can I use any Firefox theme I want to with the GlobalMojo add-on?
Yes. You can run any Firefox theme with the GlobalMojo add-on and still get all of the great features and social benefit of the GlobalMojo add-on. PLEASE NOTE: because most themes for Firefox are built by third-party designers, we can't guarantee that every Firefox theme will work with GlobalMojo.
• What version of Firefox is the GlobalMojo browser compatible with?
Firefox 2, 3 and 3.5
• Do I have to use or download Firefox before I can download GlobalMojo?
No, you can download the full GlobalMojo browser. You will only need to be a Firefox user if you intend to download the GlobalMojo add-on for Firefox.
• Questions about Your Account
• Can I use GlobalMojo on more than one computer?
Yes. For example, you can have the GlobalMojo browser on both your work and home computers. In addition, when you download a new version of GlobalMojo, it will come preloaded with all of your favorites, preferences and extras already installed. You will never have to go through the tedious process of setting up a new browser from scratch again each time you get a new computer.
• Can I have more than one account with GlobalMojo?
To ensure that the GlobalMojo program remains fair to all of the organizations that are participating, we ask that each user have a single account. Only accounts that remain active will be counted when we allocate proceeds to our participating causes.
• How do I change my personal information?
Sign in at GlobalMojo.com and click on the "My Profile" tab to edit your personal information.
• What type of personal information do you collect from me?
First and last name, email address, and birth date. We need this information because we are dedicated to protecting children on the web, and can do this only by verifying each user’s age. You information is protected under our rock solid privacy policy [link to privacy policy] and will never be shared with anyone.
• What information is shared with my nonprofit organization?
GlobalMojo does not share any of your personal information with your selected nonprofits and schools. You can choose to receive updates from your selected causes, and the updates will come through GlobalMojo. If you want to remain anonymous and not receive any updates, no problem— we won’t send you any.
• Is my information safe?
Absolutely. Please see our privacy policy.
• How can I change the nonprofits and schools I support?
Click the “My Account” or “Sign In” button at the bottom right corner of your browser or at GlobalMojo.com. Click on the "My Causes" tab to can manage your causes.
• Do I have to sign in each time I use GlobalMojo?
No, you can choose to stay “signed in” just like having a Yahoo or Google account. Each time you launch your GlobalMojo browser, we will recognize who you are and you won’t have to sign in. On shared computers we suggest you don’t choose to stay signed in.
• How can I see how much revenue is being generated for my nonprofit or school?
You can monitor how much revenue you’ve personally generated for your nonprofits and schools by signing into GlobalMojo and clicking on the “My Causes” tab, where the information is displayed in an easily readable format.
• How do I know the nonprofits are receiving the money?
Transparency is vital to the GlobalMojo mission, and to building trust with our users, nonprofits and school partners. All funds raised are reported on our website, so whenever you want, you can see how much money is being raised and to whom it is going.
• Are there any rules or restrictions?
We have only a few simple rules:
1. Only one GlobalMojo account per user: Each GlobalMojo user can sign up only once and create an account only for himself or herself. A user or organization may not establish an account on behalf of anyone else. User accounts are not transferable and must be for a physical person.
2. Only active users count: To generate money for the cause(s) you've chosen to support, you need to be an "active" user. Simply put, you need to use the GlobalMojo browser (or Firefox with the GlobalMojo add-on) as your primary browser for surfing the web. Any attempt by a user or organization to use a software piracy device that attempts to simulate active users will result in that individual or organizations account being deactivated. We identify active users based on feedback from our partners as well as our own security algorithm. As long as you are using GlobalMojo, you will remain an "active" user.
3. No spamming: GlobalMojo adheres strictly to our anti-spamming policy and forbids spamming. This applies to organizations/causes who are trying to find new supporters and individuals who are participating in the referral program. An organization/cause may only invite people with whom they already have a relationship. An individual user may only invite people that he or she explicitly knows and has a prior relationship. Violation of the policy will result in the termination of the organization or user's GlobalMojo account. For more information, see our Anti-Spam Policy.
• What if I want to quit GlobalMojo?
We'll miss you, but all you have to do is uninstall the GlobalMojo browser from your computer’s program files. If you want us to delete your information from our database please send an email to quitglobalmojo@globalmojo.com.
• Do I generate revenue for my charities if I am not signed in?
Yes, with one exception. The GlobalMojo browser uses a "cookie" to help identify you as a unique user, whether you are signed in or not. You will generate revenue for your favorite charities, even if you are not signed in. However, if you clear your browsing history including your cookies, this will impact our ability to track your activities and tie it to your charities. As long as you do not delete your cookies, the revenue you generate will continue to go to the charities of your choice. If you do delete the cookies from your browser, simply sign in to your GlobalMojo account and a new cookie will be added and the revenue you generate will be tied to your charities again.
• What happens if I clear my browser history and cookies, but forget to sign in— what happens to any revenue generated during that time?
If you clear the cookies on your computer, we can’t identify you as a user. Any revenue earned during that time will go into a GlobalMojo general fund that we will allocate to one of our featured causes. If you accidentally clear your cookies, simply log back into GlobalMojo and the revenue you generate after you log in will continue to go towards your favorite charities.
• What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of text stored on a your computer by a the web browser that identifies the causes you support. Cookies are not spyware or viruses, and are a vital part of electronic commerce. GlobalMojo always maintains the highest ethical privacy and e-commerce practices.
